Itinerary
Brief Description
The tour begins with pickup from your hotel or travel agency, followed by a short briefing from your guide. We travel by private transportation to the rural community of Cruzpata, where we meet the muleteers and horses.
From there, we ride toward the Moray archaeological site, passing through beautiful landscapes surrounded by snow-capped mountains and farmland. At Moray, your guide will explain its importance as an Inca agricultural laboratory, where temperature differences of up to 15°C between terraces allowed crops to adapt to various altitudes.
After visiting Moray, we continue on horseback to the village of Maras for a short walking tour, including a historic church over 400 years old. Here we leave the horses and travel by private vehicle to the famous Salineras de Maras, where local families have harvested salt since pre-Inca times using traditional evaporation ponds.
Finally, we return to Cusco by private transportation, arriving around 4:30 p.m.
